I've been offline for quite a while, and I'm finally getting some breathing room, so I fired up WSJT-X and started up WSPR.

I'm attaching my log, but I'm seeing traffic with invalid call signs "0O4TYG" or "0L4XRT" that I can't resolve as valid calls, and, I'm seeing impossible grid locations like HE98 or JA81.  These calls are reporting 40 dBm (10W) and I'm seeing signal strength of -16dB which isn't likely with my setup.

What could be causing these?  I'm inclined to suspect incompetence before I suspect malice, but I'm seeing one of these every 10 minutes or so.

Thoughts?

That is ghost decoding. Try changing your decode from Deep to Normal

I'll make the change and try again.  I knew something was off.  I wish I was surprised that the incompetence is my own.

Don't be too hard on yourself there. This isn't incompetence on your part, it is actually the opposite!  Your receiver and antenna are so good it is picking-up signals most everyone else can't!
