I bit the bullet and purchased an Anytone 878.  Does anyone have a code plug for this radio, or shall I rework one of the other code plugs?

Thanks,

Ed L. (KE0TSD)

I built my codeplug off of the one here:

Also, look into dmrconfig.  It's a fantastic and easy way of getting updated channels into your radio.  Doesn't do much other config so you still need the windows app to setup APRS and other options.

Actually, I do. Email me at KE0DC2@gmail.com. It's a generic code plug designed for you to modify.

This has most of the repeaters in the Denver area and most of the DMR repeaters in Colorado. Enjoy!

First step is to check your firmware version, update firmware if necessary. There's some linkage between the firmware and the code plug software, so be sure your code plug software matches the firmware version in your radio. Yes, Anytone sometimes makes changes in the firmware which are incompatible with older versions of the software. I typically get this stuff from Powerwerx, but you can download from Anytone as well.

I don't know the extent to which a DCF file will move between different firmware versions. Maybe Doug - @KE0DC - can comment on this. For the sake of simply not having to worry about it, I use the import function of the code plug software. It's a little less efficient, but it's not a big deal - for me  at least.

The basic step, after updating your firmware, is to download from your radio, set your radio ID, then import the CSV files, then upload to your radio. From there, it's maintenance mode.

Maintaining your code plug can become a chore, as the DMR landscape changes. This is just part of it, and I note the same thing happens in the world of FM repeaters, as machines go offline, or get converted to Wires-X, or to DMR. I have yet to come up with a good method for this.

In re. the above steps, I'll have to come back with more info - just stopped in here for a quick check this morning.

Unfortunately, the "Programming Guide" supplied by Anytone in the ZIP file with the code plug software is out of date. They changed some terminology, and the software, so it'll be frustrating to read it, and try to match it up to working with your radio. Some of it is still accurate.

I'll be happy to provide a ZIP file containing my exported code plug, or a DCF if you'd like. Note that you'll still need to go through your optional settings and make what changes you want or need.

I hope I'm not too late here - haven't been stopping in quite so often.

I'll send you mine. I have a selection of FM repeaters plus NOCODMR, W0TX, PRA, RMHAM and others. I haven't looked recently for updates - need to do that as it seems that some clubs are pretty active in adding to and/or changing their repeaters, but it'll get you going.

How do you want it? Your e-mail isn't listed on QRZ.

Hmm, given what I've been reading about Micro$soft and nagware stuff for Win11 and AI, I'm not thrilled with booting up the Win10 box, which is where I have the CPS, but I guess there's no getting around it. 😛 Maybe I'll pull the network cable. GAH! We need Anytone software for Linux!

Do you want a contact list as well?

I just exported a DCF - it's 9.4MB. Rather large to attach here on the forum, I think.
