This net is linked throughout the Front Range and has quickly become one of the fastest growing nets!
On Tuesday, be sure to join us on the W0CFI/R for the analog net at 8:00PM. The repeater can be accessed at 448.675 (100Hz). This is another solid weekly net that has all information regarding the PRA, it's activities, and events.
Be sure to join your friends at the PRA for the September monthly meeting on Wednesday, 9/19, at the Douglas County Library in Parker. Meet-and-Greet starts at 6:30PM, followed by our business meeting, and concluded with our monthly presentation. This month, we have a great presentation lined up on HF Mobile. Have you ever wanted to work HF Mobile? Ever wanted guidance on the perfect HF Mobile installation? This is the meeting to get all the information you need to start working one of the most challenging, but fun aspects of the hobby.
We will also get updates to our newly formed committees. Haven't signed up? No problem...we will be having a sign-up sheet for various committees that have been established. This is a great way to give back to the PRA and support your fellow club members. No arm twisting or pulling...but with the growth of the organization, we need YOUR help. Only a couple hours monthly will give so much back!
We look forward to your participation on the digital and analog nets and look forward to seeing you Wednesday. Until then, Play Radio, Have Fun & Keep the Squelch Loose.

Pedaling for Parkinson's

The PRA is proud to be supporting the Pedaling for Parkinson’s Cycling Event. They have requested the Parker Radio Association assist them with radio communications for their event on Saturday, June 16th. They are expecting over 200 riders for this event that raises awareness and money for Parkinson’s Disease, and 100% of their money raised goes to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The event takes place in Lone Tree.

Our goal is simple; assist the event staff with communications that helps support the event organizers where needed. With this low pressure event, we are needing as many as 25 volunteers from the PRA to support this event at aid stations and Communications Command. The commitment will be from approximately 5:30AM until 2:00PM at the latest. Water, food, and refreshments will be provided, however, you should bring ample water and snacks with you. A more defined list of necessities will be sent upon commitment to the event and the organizers have agreed to support as many resources we need as possible.

Ideally, you should have a handheld radio, capable of at least 5W output, UHF, analog. If you have a UHF and DMR radio, that will be an added bonus as we plan on utilizing both analog and DMR repeaters. Extra batteries are also a very strong suggestion. We will be needing those that can supply mobile radios, antennas (base/mag-mount) as well.

This is an excellent opportunity for the PRA to support its mission by “serving others in promoting amateur radio in the community.” This is also an excellent opportunity to exercise your radio skills in a low pressure, high learning and ultimately fun event!
