ALE (Automatic Link Establishment) useage

I am just getting started experimenting with ALE programs.  I am curious who else is using (has used) them and your experiences.  PC-ALE appears a bit outdated, but more functionality, however I have been unsuccessful at getting it to work with my FT-991 (not 991A).  Harming is functioning much easier, but it is more limited than PC-ALE.  It is not as user friendly (I will use that phrase), if you don’t have a broad band antenna.  It takes a good bit of work to limit the bands/channels to only TX on the bands an antenna works on without an antenna tuner.
