What do you consider the best free logging software for a MAC computer system?

Honestly? N1MM running in a Windows VM. There are some decent paid options like MacLoggerDX.

Bookmark https://www.machamradio.com/ if you haven't already. Good resource for all ham things Mac.

Thanks, would like to use N1MM in a Windows VM, but my MacBook Air is old and doesn't have enough horse power to run a VM. Will check out the MacLoggerDX.

Be careful.  I've found free software to be be worth every penny!  After messing with a number of free ham software packages for the MAC I decided to run a MS Windows machine with N3FJP logging software.  I've found Windows to be more user friendly with fldigi and Signalink also.

I am a MAC user and use MAC for everything else since retiring.  But for the shack I found much better user groups for Windows software.  It's just a fact of life which was true of Engineering apps when I was working.  Like I said...when I retired I jettisoned MS.  If it were not for getting back into ham radio I would not own a Windows machine.
