Hi all,
This will be our planning thread for our Field Day activities for this year. So if you have questions, suggestions, equipment or gear you can provide post it here. Thanks!
Robert, AE0CA
Hi Robert!
I'll take the following:
- Press Releases
- Social Media
- FT8 Station (will need antenna)
- Logging Software & Networking (will need more laptops)
- Approx 150' coax
- Canopy
I was looking at the ARRL PDF for the rules and am noticing all the bonus point possibilities.
Do we have a plan for a GOTA station? Is someone planning to contact local fire or COVOAD agencies to set up a quick visit?
Bonus points < multipliers, but we shouldn't step over the 20's to pick up the 5's.
We will most certainly have a GOTA station. It's worked well over the last couple of years. That will likely get ironed out at the next meeting. We will also have a info table, and an educational activity. We usually start off with 500+ bonus points before we even hit the air.
73,
Dan
I have some 24 gauge stranded wire for for 40 meters and 20 meters from an old dual band antenna I had made. Somewhere around here I have the balun from that antenna. I can provide 2 50ft sections of RG-8X, and a 50ft section of RG-58.
Just thinking out loud here for May's meeting: Besides the club's 7300, what other HF radios would we have available? Would like to nail down who is bringing generators and batteries. Any thought of verticals or inverted-v antennas or do we have the tree canopy to go with just wire in the air?
Ill be bringing a 12V AGM 100ah battery/inverter/solar panel combo and an 1800W inverter genset. Ill need to bring that to the gathering at the library. I’ll bring my 10 foot easy up on saturday around 2pm when I get up there. Randy.
I will bring some different length cables, adapters, watt meter, tools, power cables and power pole connectors, a couple large batteries, solar panel,
Food stuff I will try and bring salad stuff and deserts.
I'm bringing booze. Couple kegs of homebrew and assorted spirits.

Hello all,
Here is the "cheat sheet" packet for operators at Field Day. Included in the packet is: 1) Our exchange, 2) Frequencies, 3) N1MM+ summary, and 4) the ARRL/RAC sections (alphabetically).
If anyone can think of anything else to add let me know.

It is looking like rain in the area over the weekend. Remember to pack layers!
