What would the implications on this be for transmitting encrypted information on the ham bands?

While blockchains use technology very similar to encryption to validate the data, their very concept is an open, public ledger of all transactions that anyone can read and review.

I do follow that on blockchains, but my thinking was a bit further down the protocol stack.  The internet is moving to SSL for most all communications, which I would think qualifies as encryption, as the message isn't readable by any intermediary without the private key.

I don't disagree with this idea, but I'm challenged with how to fit the two parts together.

Thanks,
Ed L.
